History
What will your The Sea Club history be?
In 1959, Nora and Admiral Claude Lionel Cumberlege moved to Mallorca escaping from the tourist boom of the south of France, Antibes. In 1960 after a few months on the island The Cumberlege family came upon this property and fell in love with it and in 1962 bought the house. Admiral Claude passed away in 1963 and left Nora with the property in which she added a Swimming Pool, a Bar and a few terraces and opened it to the Public in 1964. The Sea Club soon attracted a fun-loving, young, London set with the likes of Sean Connery who was in a movie filmed in Cala Ratjada in 1964. This quickly set up a large word of mouth network, which still works up to this day. It hasn\'t changed that much through the years, within the cool, white washed walls of The Sea Club overlooking the azure Mediterranean, you\'ll not only understand why Nora and Claude fell in love with this special place but also why generations of families, have continued to visit every year, whilst recommending it to new people who can then discover this oais of calm. In 1992 Nora passed away, Luis Cumberlege the youngest of 4 took over The Sea Club. In the last few years many renovations have taken place but it has never lost it’s charm.
We hope to see you soon at The Sea Club
